The Sixth International Conference on Adult Education (2009)

UNESCO's Sixth International Conference on Adult Education (CONFINTEA VI) will be hosted by Brazil in 2009.

We are planning a series of awareness raising sessions for providers and learners beginning in November to explore the key issues of importance for adult learning across the world.

New Regional Forums to be Set Up

Do you want to work with neighbouring community learning strategy group partners to:

l    Share knowledge, skill and experience within a creative and collegiate environment, which is cross sectoral and inclusive, representing learners and learning agencies.

l    Present and share best practice in respect of Adult Learning and Community Capacity Building and nurture a local and national culture of lifelong learning.

l    Develop a range of methods for effective Community Engagement, Community Based Learning and Capacity Building

l    Work with partner organisation's where you can openly and securely share quantitative and qualitative data which can be used to improve service provision, quality and self assessment practice.

Drawing Competition, closed

THANKS for the hundreds of entries we received for our futuristic drawing competition showing us what you think you'll be doing in 2025.

Overall winners will be notified in the new year, but all eligible competitors should soon receive a prize of recognition for their considerable efforts.

International Adult learners’ week

20-23 September 2007 was a celebration of International Adult Learners' week with a conference in Manchester.  Delegates (learners and organisers) from all over the world gathered to share ideas about adult learners' week as a means to promote learning and develop strategy for Confitea VI, Brazil, 2009.

Family Learning Week 2007

Family Learning Week 2007 ran from 15th - 22nd June.

This year, SALP's family learning day was 1-4pm on the 22 June.

It was held at Our Dynamic Earth and the Scottish Parliament, and was sponsored by Robin Harper, Scottish Green party, MSP.

Adult Learners’ Week 2007

hosts at Ingliston

In 2007 Adult Learners' Week started on the 19th May and ended on the 25th May.

Three shopping Centres ran free launch events nationally on Saturday 19th May.
