3TFM are a group of volunteers from North Ayrshire, who came together to learn the skills necessary to set up and run their own community radio station. Over a period of only six months this group of people aged 16-80, with no previous experience of radio broadcasting, created a professional, well run radio station sending out an entertaining programme which included a serious message about health promotion, to the three towns of Ardrossan, Saltcoats and Stevenston.Since their award win of last year 3TFM have gone on to host a conference on community radio for Scotland’s Learning Partnership, helped establish another local community radio station.  In 2007 the group were on the streets of Irvine’s shopping centre capturing people’s learning stories on tape to encourage others back into learning.

With a true commitment to making a difference, 3TFM have shown that they are real learning ambassadors and promoters of learning.
