3TFM, Making a Sound
3TFM

3TFM are a group of volunteers from North Ayrshire, who came together to learn the skills necessary to set up and run their own community radio station. Over a period of only six months this group of people aged 16-80, with no previous experience of radio broadcasting, created a professional, well run radio station sending out an entertaining programme which included a serious message about health promotion, to the three towns of Ardrossan, Saltcoats and Stevenston.
Since receiving the "John Smith Award" at Adult Learners week, the 3TFM team have also won a Careers Scotland Excellence Award (DEC 08) and were overall winners as the most innovative community group, for their development of the weekly "Careers guidance " show, hosting Eddie Gemmell every Friday afternoon between 1pm - 3pm .
